Zone 9-11

Rainbow eucalyptus is a very fast growing tree that will reach 100 feet or more in height and be as much as eight feet in diameter.  Growth rate is like a bullet in the range of 6-10 feet per year in South Florida's warmth and near 60-inch annual rainfall

What everyone loves is the bark; multi-colored in shades of several pastels, the tree is a wonder. Color tones include red, pink, blue, gray and green.   Most folks say it has the most beautiful bark of any tree on earth

Native to areas of the Philippines, Indonesia, New Guinea and other western Pacific islands, the tree wants full sun, lightly moist soils (grows in wetlands in native lands) and is not fussy for food.  Your Rainbow eucalyptus is a very fine evergreen with a a boatload of cache

Give Rainbow eucalyptus the space it needs, keep moist to establish then enjoy what is very likely almost for sure the coolest tree in your neighborhood.  Every year the display of color and flowering is more and more stunning

To propagate, you need to harvest tiny round seeds pods in early fall in zone 10.  From one day where they are green and not yet ripe to the day they open (ripe ready) can be 24 hours so "catching" the seeds is an issue.  The seeds are like specs and hardly visible unless seen in groups of many.  Here is a bowl with pods that opened in our care and the smallest spec you see in the pic is a Rainbow seed

Sprouting requires hot humid conditions and perfect protection.  Sprouts are super fragile and very small.  In this pic, you are seeing sprouts near 2 months old ...about 1-inch tall.  It will take another 4-6 months before a Rainbow seedling is at all sturdy
