Palm Fertilizer

This product is excellent for palms and all other non-woody tropical and sub-tropical plant species

The basic formulation includes coated nitrogen as well as phosphate, potash, plus these minor elements:

  • Magnesium
  • Manganese
  • Sulphur
  • Boron
  • Copper
  • Iron
  • Molybdenum
  • Zinc

Application

Spread a thin layer at and beyond the drip line of the plant.  Apply during each warm and hot month

Time Release Pellets

Excellent for all potted plants

Developed by the Japanese, pellet fertilizer will not burn plants.  Critically important, pellet food should also include a mixture of essential minor elements such as magnesium, iron, zinc, etc

Activated by warmth and moisture, time release pellets shed layers of food over time, typically 100-120 days.  This food is 100% safe for virtually any plant and is the premier choice of professional growers and nurserymen through all of Florida

When shopping for pellet food, be CAREFUL to examine and read the package for content.  It seems most packages are of the high nitrogen variety, e.g. 25-10-10 or similar (high first number = high nitrogen).  You may want that for foliage plants, but for blooming plants, you want either a FLAT formulation like 14-14-14 - or if you can find it - buy something like 5-10-5 or any similar, e.g. 10-20-10 etc which is even better for flowering

Most folks rely on liquid chemical fertilizers and often get into trouble with excess application, plant burn, toxicity reactions, salts build-up and even plant death

With pellet food, there is no chance of excess use or burn

Application:

Adding 1-2 tablespoons per typical houseplant soil (plants in pots), once in spring and once in mid summer are sufficient.  Heavy feeders such as cacti and succulents can have more food or more often or both
